Cappuccino machines have come a long way since they were first introduced as simple stove-top pressure cookers around the turn of the 20th century. Nowadays, you can choose from pump-driven, semi-automatic, and completely automatic machines. You can also buy cappuccino machines that include milk frothing rods, coffee bean grinders, and computers. Many commercial cappuccino makers are even equipped with programs that command the machine to draw water and grind beans at various rates throughout the course of the day.
With so many different choices (and resultant prices), how can you choose a cappuccino machine that is right for you?
First, you should determine which drinks you are making most often. If you typically make just espresso, then a simple, manual machine will probably suffice. However, if you desire the full gamut of beverages, including espresso, cappuccino, latte, and hot chocolate, a semi-automatic or automatic cappuccino machine is a better choice. For households or workplaces where people might consume several different types of coffee beverages per day, buying a cappuccino machine with additional gadgets, such as a coffee bean grinder, is also a good idea.
Many individuals are not sure about the different classes of cappuccino machines. In general, cappuccino machines fall into three main categories: manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic. The manual machine typically has the water driven by an electric pump. The operator must add the water, the coffee grinds, and then control the boiler until the water is hot enough to push through the grinds. If milk is used, then a froth rod must be placed into the milk to heat it up and produce foam. After the drink is made, the machine must be partially disassembled and cleaned.
With a semi-automatic cappuccino machine, you press buttons to have the water push through the coffee grinds, as well as to have the coffee beans ground. The process of making cappuccino is greatly simplified, even though the beans (or the grounds) and water must be refilled manually. Likewise, the milk must still be heated and frothed manually. A semi-automatic cappuccino machine may or may not include a self-cleaning program.
A fully automatic cappuccino machine performs almost all the steps of the beverage making process. The water system is integrated into the machine via plumbing, and the beans are automatically ground. A built-in double boiler allows the machine to produce espresso and heat milk at the same time. Once the beverage has been made, the spent coffee grounds are simply ejected out and into the trash.
Of course, as you move up from a manual to a semi-automatic to an automatic cappuccino machine, cost also increases. Therefore, you should assess how much time is saved by paying more money for a cappuccino machine with automation and added features. It is also important not to skimp on quality when purchasing a cappuccino machine, since a good quality machine can last for a decade or more. To this end, online review sites are a great way to learn more about different cappuccino machines. You may also wish to post your own experiences with a given cappuccino machine brand in order to help others with their purchasing decisions.

No doubt, instant coffee is convenient and handy to have in the house but true lovers of coffee understand that coffee made from a stove top espresso maker has a much better taste and aroma. So if you have some friends that are getting married, and they love drinking coffee, then you would be doing them a favour if you bought for them a Bialetti Stove top coffee maker as a gift.
Once you have made your first cup of coffee using a stove top coffee maker and heard the distinctive bubbling hissing noise that lets you know when it is ready, you will understand how easy it is to make a cup of coffee with one. All you have to do is put water in the bottom canister, slip in the coffee powder holder and add the powder, connect the top portion of the arrangement and place on the stove and wait just a few minutes for your caf styled cup of coffee. Believe me your friends will enjoy hearing the hissing noise that marks the time that the coffee is ready.
It is accepted that the taste and aroma of coffee made with an espresso maker is far superior to the instant variety, what is not so widely known is that the design of the coffee maker can influence how good it tastes. The right formula for making a great tasting cup of coffee is to have good quality coffee powder, and a well designed espresso maker that will force the water evenly though the powder to ensure that the maximum taste is obtained from the powder.
Bialetti offers various sizes of stove top espresso makers, from the rapid single cup maker, up to the dozen cup maker. You can choose the size that suits your budget, and also the number of people that the coffee maker is going to be used to make coffee for.
The Bialetti stove top coffee maker is such a sleek and efficient design that it has remained the same for 7 decades. The company utilizes the highest quality aluminium material that provides even heat distribution to give extra flavour to your coffee. It is believed that the remains of coffee from the previous brews, which stick to the sides adds to flavour and depth of future brews. So, do not wash the maker immediately after use.
Bialetti, being a leader in the manufacture of domestic model coffee makers continues to strive to offer variations in style and size of coffee maker. In order to improve the espresso maker Bialetti has developed new technologies so that the espresso makers can be used on electric and gas stoves and there is even a style that can be used on an open fire. Brikka and Mukka are two very popular stainless steel and electric coffee maker models made by Bialetti.
If you want a stove top coffee maker that also makes a crema, then you have to get the Brikka model that is made by Bialetti. This model has all of the same features as the Moka, except that it also makes a crema. This is done by employing a unique valve system that allows extra pressure to be built up during the brewing process, which results in a richer, fuller flavour.
So, for all of the reasons above, I think that you will agree that a Stove top espresso maker is a very wise choice as a wedding present for your friends that really enjoy great tasting caf styled coffee in the comfort of their own home.

The Bialetti Mini Express
This is the 2 cup version. In about 5 min. I have a double shot that tastes great, from my own kitchen! I only make shots, so I don't need the wand. One spout had to be turned to meet the other, single shots are silly. And it was only 30 bucks or so. I will have saved that in 2 weeks. Rarely do I find such pleasure in an object. Even more rare do I tell the world. Steam Power!!!
Thanks to Irini for finding this one!!!
