@Bungle2010 With these machines, you put the milk component in first. The coffee comes next, and is heavier. Thus it sinks to the bottom, while at the same time mixes a little bit with the milk below the foam. . .But with a normal espresso machine you would add the milk and foam AFTER the espresso is in.
Thanks! But dude, you killed that drink by over extending the espresso brew. . .By doing that you are getting the bittery end of the coffee grinds left in the disc, plus you are watering down the drink. . . .If you want a stronger cup, use two discs, each with short brew lenghts. In other words, hitting the button about 3 seconds after the espresso comes out (since it continues to drip for another 4 seconds AFTER you hit the button again; a feature I dislike about this machine). Good luck!
@stuthepoo123 I do have one of these machines (the T65). You can add more water at the end to make the drink weaker, or just to top it up. I was just questioning the amount of water he was adding, which seemed quite a lot. He was doing this, as you said, because his cup is larger than necessary.
@Bungle2010 He isnt usin the right cup, i bought the £160 one. the one he is using is the £100 one. theres no difference except LCD screen and water filter. the cups i got with mine you dont have to add any water with it, and it taste just like the ones i get from costa
@x100gr. With the Tassimo when making a latte macchiato you put the milk in first, is that not normal? Also with that type of latte the emphasis is on the milk, as opposed to a cafe latte where the emphasis is on the coffee.
1. Why so much water ? just for the visual effect ?... 2. In normal preperation , cofee comes first , this is the reverse way , why ? 3. The ratio of cofee vs milk + water is so small , are you going to taste ANY coffee ?
too much work... too complicated... wait for color light, push button, wait, wait for another color light, another disc, another light, another button.... I thought it was all automatic.

ReplyDeleteYes. . .I even suggest hitting the button after 3 seconds for a nicer espresso component. . .Use a second disc if he wants a stronger cup.

Doesn't adding all that extra water at the end make the drink too weak?
