ReplyDeleteNot loud at all. I bought this machine then traded up to the 800ESXL because I liked it so much. The 800 is slightly larger, die-cast with separate water & steam, tool compartment, & has a chrome plated brass portafilter. I tried 5 other units before I bought this Breville, by far IMO it produced the sweetest espresso. I compared the Krups xp4050 side-by-side using the the same coffee beans, grind, dose, and tamping pressure. The Krups tasted sour but the Breville was sweet & had more crema.
ReplyDeleteI would like to open her box.
ReplyDeleteNice but how much is it? =)
ReplyDeleteCharles.
im worried about the noise..is it really bad?
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about buying this but then I found out it was made in Australia.
ReplyDeleteVery nice setup.
ReplyDeleteyou shouldn't have bought that grinder with a doser...you wouldn't waste so many beans!
ReplyDeleteI like the set up dude...
ReplyDeleteThank you.

I took the song from the repertory that James Hoffman use to won the WBC 2007 because he is one of the baristas that I most respect and learn from.
nice set-up!
ReplyDeletewhat song is this? the singer sounds like andrew bird.
But, this is just the half of the story because I need to make a lot of other modification in order to achieve enough steam pressure. My suggestion is that you buy a better espresso machine like Rancilio Silvia or a prosumer espresso machine like Izzo Alex Duetto as I did. :-)
ReplyDeleteI draw first the measure and shape of the steam pipe and went to a machine shop. There I choose a pipe with the right diameter and they do the rest for me. I also show them the thread of my 4-hole steam tip that I bought from espresso parts so they can do the same thread to my steam pipe.
ReplyDeletewow, fantastic. Where did you get that steam wand from?
ReplyDeleteHey great job! You are one of the very few people I would trust to make my coffee. I've never been a fan of that style of distributing, but if it's consistent and works for you power to you. You may want to consider a slightly longer preflush, especially on that kind of espresso machine, not only to heat up the head and flush old grounds out, but also because the first ounce or so can be so hot in that boiler type as to scorch the puck.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment. I really appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteBest video of the contest! I won the contest three years ago and I think this is going to be the winner this year.
